Last Unicorn Airways

When: Saturday 14th February

Join two whimsical baggage handlers as they recreate a fantastical round-the-world adventure aboard the final flight of Last Unicorn Airways, opening suitcases brimming with trinkets, fine clothes, alluring smells and exciting tales.

Among these treasures lies a special case containing The Flying Trunk, a captivating Arabian Nights-inspired fable about a daring, globe-trotting storyteller with nothing but a magical flying suitcase!

 

A Square World

When: Monday 16th February

Where: Moss Bank Library, WA11 7PQ

Time: 11am & 2pm

Age: 3-8 yr olds

A Square World is a story of friends who enjoy the same routine day after day, each day is the same until an unexpected change is forced upon just one of them. This accidental happening throws everyone into disarray, the friends are suddenly divided into those who can and the one who can’t.

The friends realise their daily routine is no longer as enjoyable as it was and together decide they need to redefine the rules of the square world in which they live. By injecting a little fun and chaos they soon discover their lives won’t be square ever again!

 

Brave Bettie

Bettie feels most alive in the forest, surrounded by whispering trees and rustling leaves. It’s her sanctuary – a place where she can breathe deeply, think clearly and feel at peace. But what happens when her safe haven is under threat?

When the council announces plans to cut down her favourite tree, Bettie is devastated. At home, she struggles to manage her emotions and doesn’t think of herself as brave. But the forest needs her now more than ever.

When cracks start appearing and chaos hits their world, the grown-up aliens can’t agree on how to fix things. So, it’s up to Ozmo & Orbi to lead the way and find a new, perfect planet to live on. Along the way, they discover that the solution might be closer to home than they think.

 

Story Time with Mama G

Mama G will be sharing original stories and songs, and some of the best picture books on the market, in an uplifting story time for the whole family. There’ll be dancing and giggles galore as Mama G shares the power of being who you want and loving who you are!

Described as “Everyone’s favourite pantomime dame,” (Metro), Mama G has been telling stories since 2018. In that time she has been a semi-finalist on Britain’s Got Talent, performed her show Off-Broadway, and performed at libraries, festivals, prides, museums and theatres all over the UK. Her booked ‘Oh Yes I Am!’ was published in 2024 and is available wherever you buy books!

 

Make Some Noise

Noise can be gentle, quiet, loud, lots of fun and full of feelings.

Dommy B shares a surprising story about growing up, finding a brilliant (but naughty) imaginary friend, becoming ‘Junk the Punk’ and joining a great school band (Whizzkid and the Veggie Burgers)!

There’ll be rhymes, jokes, and lots of opportunity to make some noise in a celebration of the power of sound and friendship.

Join Kronos, a flamboyant chaos wizard with more sparkle than sense, and Pan, a clever, by-the-book mechanic who can fix anything… except maybe big-headed wizards. These two adventuring heroes now roam the land saving villages, solving mysteries, and telling the tallest tales — but it wasn’t always like this…
