I’m so happy to announce two new Big Imaginations members! I spent a lovely day earlier this month visiting Bolton Libraries and The Whitaker who have joined the Big Imaginations network

First up on my trip was Bolton Libraries and Museum, which has something for everyone. From Ancient Egyptian artifacts to Greater Manchester’s only public aquarium. The Library space is currently under redevelopment and will be completed in January 2024. Meanwhile, they are offering a full range of services and events in their temporary home at Crompton Place Shopping Centre and their truly one of a kind Museum and Aquarium are still open as usual throughout the Library renovation.

Caroline Hall, the Library Access Officer at Bolton Central Library had this to say about our new partnership…

“Big Imaginations is the partnership we have always wanted. A network that supports and shares fantastic quality family theatre and resources which ensures that we have only the best for our families in Bolton.”

Next up was The Whitaker museum and art gallery who work closely with their local community, encouraging them to thrive within our natural environment. Focusing on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, connecting people, heritage and ideas with the past, the present and the future. Huge congratulations are in store too because The Whitaker has just become a new National Portfolio Organisation. A group of arts and cultural organisations that get regular funding from Arts Council England, which invests public money for creativity and culture in England.

Gemma at The Whitaker said… “The Whitaker are excited to be part of Big Imaginations. Being part of this network means that we are able to bring a broader range of high quality theatre and family programming to our audiences in Rossendale and beyond.”

We couldn’t be happier to welcome these two fantastic new venues to our network and I can’t wait to see what shows and events they have in store for you all!
